Gaff chim Nak was a male Tellarite who served in Starfleet in the late 24th century. By 2381, he had been assigned as the beta shift operations manager aboard the Federation starship USS Aventine.
During the Borg Invasion of 2381, the Aventine scouted several subspace tunnels emanating from the Azure Nebula; Nak was on duty on the Bridge when the ship returned to the nebula from the intergalactic void and answered the hail from the USS Enterprise-E. Nak was also on the Bridge when the two vessels passed through another tunnel to end up near the Carina Arm. While there, they were attacked by Hirogen hunting vessels, and Nak assumed primary operations duties at the science two console after Oliana Mirren was injured by the exploding operations console.
